Sergio Aguero , performed very well in front of the goal Newcastle United

Sergio Aguero , Manchester City striker , performed very well in front of the goal Newcastle United he please register five goals in a 6-1 victory at Etihad Stadium

Sergio Aguero, Jesus Navas, the Etihad atmosphere and more discussion points from City's weekend win over Newcastle...
Navas effect
City’s jet-heeled winger has come off the bench to great effect in City’s last two games. Against Monchengladbach his introduction coincided with the fightback, and his impact against the Magpies was even more telling. The combined effect of his electric pace down the right, and Kevin De Bruyne’s seamless switch to the left flank, helped pulled Newcastle’s defence apart. Navas’ delivery for De Bruyne’s volleyed goal was perfection too.
The haul that had it all
Five goals in nine touches is ridiculous even by Sergio Aguero’s standards. The haul had it all – a header, left-foot, right-foot, a dinked finish, opportunism and a ferocious hit from distance. Manuel Pellegrini said afterwards he is confident City have got on top of Aguero's muscle injury problems. Hopefully that is the case – if the forward stays fully fit City have a chance against any opposition they might face.
Etihad atmosphere
Almost 54,000 were packed inside a sell-out Etihad Stadium, and City's goal glut after the break had everyone of a Blue persuasion on a high. Goals will always provide a feel-good factor but everything is amplified with so many people behind the team. If the noise levels continue the Etihad Stadium will become a place to fear for visiting teams.

Hart foundation
Joe Hart’s save from Aleksandar Mitrovic with City trailing 1-0 was crucial. At the time Newcastle were on the up and at 2-0 the whole complexion of the game would have been different. Of course Aguero grabbed all the headlines with his five-goal display, the question is how many of those would have been scored without Hart’s early intervention?

Mind games
The difference in the game in the first and second halves shows the power of the mental side of the game. When Newcastle had something to fight for, they were impressive, snapping into tackles and threatening in attack. Once City’s second goal went in the visitors could not resist the tides of attack. Twice in a week City have recovered from a deficit to go on and win the game. That belief should stand them in good stead for sterner tasks to come.

Marko Arnautovic : It was an unbelievable win for us and I thought we showed plenty of quality

Arnautovic saw a goal ruled out for offside in the first half but the forward was happy to eventually bag the winner and gain all three points.

Stoke City
Stoke City
MARKO ARNAUTOVIC hailed Stoke City's win over Aston Villa as 'unbelievable' after securing the only goal of the game on Saturday afternoon.
The Austrian recorded his second goal of the campaign to ensure City were 1-0 victors in what was a dominant performance by Mark Hughes’ side.
The result means the Potters also achieved back-to-back wins and earn a third successive win at Villa Park for the first time in the Club’s history.
Arnautovic saw a goal ruled out for offside in the first half but the forward was happy to eventually bag the winner and gain all three points.
“It was an unbelievable win for us and I thought we showed plenty of quality,” he said to Stoke City Player.
“It’s Aston Villa and it is never easy because they have good players in the team and it is never easy to win an away game.
“We’re happy and on the overall consensus of play I think we deserved it.
“I scored a goal in the first half which was offside and if it counted we could have put the game further to bed.”
Arnautovic rounded up a fine performance just before the hour mark after peeling away from his marker to slot the ball past Brad Guzan.
He was brilliantly spotted by Glen Johnson whose delightful pass assisted and the Austrian international was quick to credit his goal to the England international.
“I will give the goal to Glen Johnson,” he added.
“The ball from him was fantastic. Of course I’m happy to score the goal but I am equally happy that he saw my run.
“We have a very good squad and have so much quality, but we need to show this every week.
“We have to improve every week and I think there is more to come from us.”

Sylvain Distin : Today is not about beAFC Bournemouthing man of the match, it is about being a defender

Sylvain Distin, Simon Francis and Andrew Surman gave their views on the 1-1 draw with Watford in the mixed zone.

Distin calls for clean sheets, after ‘average’ start to season
“Today is not about being man of the match, it is about being a defender.  As a defender I want to keep clean sheets, we only have one under our belt and we have to do better," he said.
“I would say the season has been average so far, it could have gone a lot better, we need more clean sheets but it is not important how you start or how you go through a season it is how you finish at the end of the season.

AFC Bournemouth 1 - 1 Watford

“There is no point in focusing on how we started. That is behind us – now we have to look ahead.”
Francis says luck isn’t going the Cherries’ way at the moment, but removes any blame from goalkeeper Artur Boruc.
“Obviously we are disappointed to concede any goal but in the manner that it happened probably even more disappointed", he said.
“We had the chance to win the game in the second half. Unfortunately our luck wasn’t in with the penalty, that is just the way things seem to be going for us at the moment.
“I thought we did enough to win the game today but a couple of unlucky moments have gone against us.
“It’s not like him (Boruc), he has bailed us out of many games this season and last season in the Championship.
“Since he has been here so you can’t really legislate for it, it is just a mistake that has been made and we move on.”
The season has been frustrating so far but we have a lot to build on, says Surman.
“I think it has gone well, we are probably more frustrated really," he said.
“I think in games where we either should have won or we have dropped points in it’s been a bit frustrating, but I feel we should have more points on the board so far this season.
“I don’t think we’ve really played anyone this season where we have felt that we were totally out of the game but seven points is a decent total, we just have to build on that now.
“Today is another one, we dominated the first half and found ourselves at 1-1 so it is frustrating.”

The Baggies visited Selhurst Park for the early Premier League kick off last weekend, and suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Alan Pardew's Palace, with Yannick Bolasie and Cabaye provising the goals to secure the three points.

Both goalscorers were praised for their performances, but it was Zaha's relentless running, causing Chris Brunt endless problems and winning the penalty for Cabaye to fire home Palace's second, which impressed the Frenchman.

"When he plays like this he's difficult to stop," said Cabaye after the game. "I like him, we all like him, we all know what he can do and today he was terrific."

Cabaye's third goal of the season secured the win for Palace, netting his second penalty in the space of a week, having got the only goal in the away win at Watford at the end of September.

Both he and Dwight Gayle have taken two, scored two from the spot this season, but the Frenchman revealed that he has been designated the regular penalty taker by Pardew.

"We had a chat with the manager and he told me that I have to take the penalties," he said. "I'm confident with it and two in a row, I'll try to keep that up, to carry on and score a few more goals."
